The Sony Xperia Z

It is a sleek Japan-made product that is waterproof, very light (only 495g), and has many features. Being light means it can be hand-held for long. The iPad Mini

It is light and portable gadget and manages to be easy on eyes even though it does not have the retina display. Although the two versions available include the 8GB and 16GB versions, it is possible to extend the latter one to 64GB to afford more space for movies and music.

The iPad 4

It is customizable in terms of the apps, even better than android, and also comes with a retina display. You can easily watch movies on the 9.7-inch screen. It has the powerful iOS6 operating system. Other features include scratch-proof glass and strong aluminum chassis.

The Infinity ASUS Transformer Tablet

It provides great resolution for movies and it has multiple ports, good battery life and has a keyboard docking station in case you want to complete some heavy office work. The Galaxy Note 10.1

It is good for gaming, movie watching and office due to its large screen. In addition, it has an S pen, ability to expand memory via the MicroSD and works on am android jelly bean OS. It is thin (8.6 mm) and lighter than the iPad 2. It has a higher cost but it offers value for its features.

The Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet

This one can have an extended memory of up to 2TB and runs on a Windows 8 system. You can choose either the 64GB or the 128GB versions and offers great resolution, which is good for movie viewing and general entertainment. It comes with a digital scribble pen (that great user experience) and office document. The significantly higher weight (908g) is well distributed. It is also thicker at 13.5mm but can stand manhandling. It is comparable to the office PC but smaller.

ASUS FonePad

This has phone capability and functionalities, including messaging and calling, among others. It affords 16GB for storage and operates on a jelly bean android OS. Although it is 340g heavy, it has a good grip and provides enough space for grip at the edges, without obscuring the screen at the corners.

Nexus 10

Its smaller brother is the Nexus 7. It comes with a 300ppi display, and is thin (at 8.9mm). It operates on an android and has a dual-core ARM Cortex A15 processor, so one of the fastest tablets made by Google. It can accommodate more than one user.

The above gadgets are not in order of superiority but the Nexus 10 is the fastest, iPad Mini picking the medal for the lightest and all of them (do not favor the Windows 8 Surface Pro and for Android now) provides good quality for money. Your budget is a great determiner of what you can buy though.
